Description: This fascinating veneer comes from the butt of a small to moderately sized tree that is also grown for its herbal properties. The veneers, though not of any great size, are very decorative with irregular grey-black veining overlaying a background of salmon pink, often incorporating other shades. In addition, the logs are usually burred in places and a great variety of visual effects is possible when the bundles are opened out for matching.
