Walnut, African

Also known as: Dibetou, Bibolo

Botanical Name: Lovoa trichilioides

Origin: Central and West Africa

Description: The dark golden brown teak colour, sometimes also showing narrow black gum lines, has given this species its common name although it is not a true Walnut. Most logs are quarter cut to produce a veneer that is markedly stripy, rather like a brown Sapele.
